Society Of Illustrators Opening Reception

This year marks the first time one of my paintings has been included in the Society of Illustrators prestigious annual exhibition. Having never been to New York City it was the perfect reason to go for the first time. My wife an I made it to the opening reception on January 6th and had a great time. The work included in the show was exceptional and I was proud to be included in the group. Here are a few photos from that night including the first original painting I've ever seen by J.C. Leyendecker and the amazing Norman Rockwell piece over the bar.

The show runs for most of January so be sure to see it if you're in New York.

Too Long

My Last blog entry was in August. It seems like Twitter has taken over my social media time but I'm going to try get this page up and running again this year. Here's a start with just a bit of what I'm up to this week.

First, I'm taking down all my 10th Anniversary images. 2011 marks my 11th year in business. So a slightly new look to this blog, my twitter page (https://twitter.com/#!/johnperlock) and my website http://www.johnperlock.com.

As for artwork, I'm working on a sketch for Barron's this week so watch out in mid February 2011 for me.
